Veronica Wilkinson Cert CII
Veronica has worked in the insurance and financial planning business for 50 years and holds a Certificate in Insurance and a Certificate in Financial Administration (Life). She joined the Yorkshire Insurance in York in 1970. In 1976 she joined the family insurance broking business of Charles Wilkinson Insurance Brokers, as a partner, in Huddersfield, a general practitioner business covering personal and commercial insurance including life and pensions and in 1978 she opened the York office for Charles Wilkinson Insurance Brokers. In 2005 Charles Wilkinson Financial Planning Ltd was established and she became a Director and Company Secretary and Financial Planning Administrator.
Veronica became a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) in 1978 and a member of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) since 2011. She has held various rolls on the committee for the Insurance Institute of York including CPD coordinator, Education Secretary, Deputy President, President (2001/2002 and 2008/2009) and currently CPD Cordinator, Treasurer and Life Vice President. Regionally, she sits on the committee for the North East Regional Forum and is Professional Qualifications Officer for the Yorkshire Region Personal Finance Society. Nationally for the CII from 2009 - 2015 Veronica was the Regional Representative to the CII Representative Council and appointed to the CII Board for the same period.
Veronica was awarded Distinguished Service Award by the CII in 2005 and in 2012 was awarded an Exceptional Service Award in recognition of her services to both the Insurance Institute of York and the CII. In 2018 she was awarded The Bridgewater Award for exceptional service to the Chartered Insurance Institute. Veronica is a liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Insurers.
Married to Stephen they jointly run their successful business in York.
Outside of work Veronica enjoys reading and hiking.
